Small Entry Ways – Our Favorites
The entry way of our homes set the scene for the rest of the interior beyond. This is why so many homeowners focus on creating luxurious and grand entrances as it’s the first space visitors see.
Social media is inundated with enormous entry ways that go beyond the realm of reality sometimes, and the smaller entries tend to get lost in the shuffle!
We love designing all kinds of spaces, and entry ways and foyers are no exception! Here are some of our favorite entry ways!

Small Yet Sophisticated
When we designed this small foyer, we wanted to create flow and unity throughout the home. We designed a stunning millwork wall that complemented the new trim work we designed in the neighboring dining room, and also brought in a bold, dark, blue paint color, Sherwin-Williams Indigo Batik.
Even though we went dark on the wall above the board and baton, the space still feels light and bright as you walk into the home. We added hallway lighting and changed the closet doors to mirrored sliding doors to make the space feel more spacious and bounce light around.
Our next foyer is from a new construction project we designed. This long and narrow entry needed some design love to make it feel welcoming and complete.
Adding Personality to New Construction
When entering this home, the long entry runs the length of the elongated garage and mud room. We were tasked with making this space feel welcoming and inviting to guests. We also wanted to lead people through the home and encourage them to continue through to the great room beyond.
A small entry rug just inside the door created a place for shoes to be removed and a way for leaves, debris, or snow to be shed. The next rug grounds a small seating area just outside the powder room and coat closet. We leveraged this area to create an aesthetically pleasing and welcoming area from the powder room hallway.
Entry ways can be styled various ways and the next one is a little more traditional.
An Anchor Point
Using natural colors, natural wood, and linen curtains, we designed a functional entry way for this busy family. The cabinet provides a place for shoe storage that is elegant and out of the way. Linen curtains frame the nearby windows and ties in with the rest of the window treatments in the house.
We included a place for keys, and a mirror for a last minute check before heading out the door.
An Inspiring Backdrop
Perhaps this isn’t the smallest entry that our team has worked on, it’s more of a mid sized one, but we couldn’t resist sharing it anyways!
When entering this home, the foyer was overwhelming and dated. A grand staircase led to a two story entry, and the space was lifeless before we came in!
This foyer received a huge makeover with a luxurious new staircase runner, new lighting upgrades throughout, and stunning styling. We designed a perfect and welcoming entry for this family.
