Interior Design Process

Working with an interior designer for the first time can feel like a big step. Our process is designed to take the mystery out of it. From your first call through to the final install, every stage is clear, collaborative, and free of unnecessary complexity. Here is exactly what to expect.

Step One

Let's Chat

Every project starts with a conversation. We will set up a free 15 to 20 minute call to hear about your project, your space, and your goals. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and make sure we are the right fit.

Step Two

Let's Meet

If the call feels right, we meet in person to look at your space and talk through your project in more detail. We gather clues about your lifestyle, style preferences, and family needs, and begin to get a sense of what is feasible. If you have been saving inspiration photos, bring them.

Step Three

The Agreement

After our meeting, we put together a straightforward design agreement outlining the scope of work and final deliverables. It is a not-to-exceed agreement, so you know your investment upfront with no surprise fees. Everything is signed and paid online.

Step Four

The Fun Begins

This is where the design work happens. Over the next three to six weeks, depending on your project scope, we work behind the scenes across four key phases:

Draw It Up: Your space is drafted in AutoCAD, capturing walls, doors, windows, and any architectural features.
Space Planning: We determine the best layout for your space and identify furniture sizes, placements, and any architectural elements worth exploring.
Selections: We research and source furniture, accessories, fabrics, tile, flooring, and paint to bring the plan to life.
Packaging It Up: Everything is pulled into a presentation, complete with pricing, lead times, and a list of any items requiring a trade estimate.

Step Five

The Big Reveal

We meet again to walk through the full design. We cover the floor plan first, then move through all the selections so you can see how it comes together. You will get to touch and feel samples and share any feedback before we move to final.

Step Six

Revisions

Based on your feedback, we make adjustments to the plan or selections and send everything over for your review. Once approved, we move to final pricing.

Step Seven

Pricing

With the final plan confirmed, we pull together pricing for everything. Some items you will purchase through us, others directly from retail sources. We provide an invoice for trade items and a full shopping list for everything else. Prefer we handle all purchasing? We can do that too.

Step Eight

Schedule & Order

Once payment is received for trade items, we place all orders and coordinate with your contractors to get work scheduled. The finish line is in sight.
